Homework Term Two Week Four

Task one: The origins of your first name and surname

In our circle time this week we will be discussing the origins and meaning of our name. Please talk to your family, and carry out some internet research, then present a simple ½ -1 page in your homework book outlining the following:
-Where does your name come from?
-What does your name mean?
-Were you named after anyone else? Who?
-Are there any famous people with your name?
-Any other interesting stories, facts, history or general information about your name!

Task Two: Maths

Once again I would like people who didn’t complete the maths grid on Monday to be doing a maths grid each night of the week. Please complete these in your homework book so that I can see them on Friday.

Task Three: Current Events

Check on the board in Rm 6 to see if you are on this week. Please be ready to present to the class and lead a discussion.

Task Four: Reading

If you are in a Literature Circles group please make sure you are ready for your group meeting this week. Remember you must read your chapters, complete your activity and have it glued in your group’s scrapbook before the meeting.
-If you are in Mr Yeoman’s group please read your book for at least 20mins each night, bring it to school each day and be prepared to share a summary of what has happened in your book with our small group.

No spelling this week! I’ve listened to your feedback and we are working on some new material. Watch this space!

-Pink Shirt Day this Friday 26th. Wear pink, bring a pink item in your lunch box, help decorate the pink tree, guess how many pink marshmellows!

-Assembly this Friday, all most welcome

Homework Term Two Week Three



Task one: Te Reo Maori

Please ensure you are up to date with our Te Reo notes in your languages book. Please take this book home, practice each night with your whanau and be ready for a quiz at the start of next week.

Task Two: Maths

Homework Term Two Week Two

Task one: Maths

If you didn’t complete this weeks maths times table grid in the 4min 30sec limit then you must complete a maths times tables grid in your homework book each night. I will be checking these on Friday. Knowing your times tables is essential!

Task Two: Current Events

If you are on Current Events any time this week (see the timetable on the board in Rm 6) please be prepared, complete the tasks outlined in the Current Events scrapbook and return the book to school the next day ready to present to the class and lead a discussion.

Task Three: Reading

Homework Term one Week Ten


Task one:  Maths

This week we have begun our maths statistics project. We will be working on this each day in class but you will need to spend some homework time on this also in order to get it completed.
This project must be completed and handed in to Mr Yeoman by Wed 12th April.

Task Two: Spelling

Please complete your worksheet and practice activities each night and be ready for testing at the end of the week.

Task Three: Current Events

If you are on the timetable for this week please complete your task, return the scrapbook to school and be prepared to share with the rest of the class.

Task Five: Reading

Please spend at least 20 minutes each night reading your book. Remember to also bring your book to school every day to read.

-Wed 5th & Thurs 6th April = Class Scripture Esiteddfods
-Thurs 6th April = First round of the Maths Problem Challenge for those students involved.
-Thurs 6th April = Otago Schools Triathlon.
-Fri 7th April = Teacher only day
-Fri 7th April = G.R.I.P. leadership conference for the four students involved.
-Sun 9th April = Kapa Haka festival at Molyneux park 1pm
