Homework Term Three Week Six



Task One: Reading

Personal Reading – Please make sure you complete your personal reading pages by Friday.

Book Letters & Book Talks  - Thanks to those who led the way on this last week, well done! If you haven’t done a book letter or book talk yet then I’d expect that from you either this week or next.

Task Two: Current Events

Please complete to a high standard if you are on the roster for this week.

Task Three: Maths Times Tables grid & Worksheets

Times Tables grids - For anyone over 4 mins this is compulsory. If you’re just under then it’s highly recommended!

Task Four: Must Dos

 You should have enough class time to complete these but if you get behind you will need to spend some homework time completing them.

Notices & Dates

Tues 29th Aug – Gymnastics & Vege Gardening. Please wear PE gear.

Wed 30th Aug – Room 6 leading School Mass. Mural Art group in the afternoon.

Thurs 31st Aug – Dance in the morning. Gymnastics in afternoon. Please wear PE gear.

Fri 1st Sept – 12:30pm = Sticks ‘n’ Stones.         2:10pm = Rm 6 running school assembly.

Next week – River Monitoring trip on Tues Sept 5th. More info to come.

Homework Term Three Week Five


Task One: Reading

Personal Reading - Make sure you enjoy your book at school and at home and reach your target pages by Friday. Keep track of finished books in your READING LOG and update your WISHLIST as you see good books.

Book Letters & Book Talks - I would like some people who have completed books recently to be giving Book Talks and handing in Book Letters. Remember to look in your books at the ideas we discussed for these tasks.

Cross Country

St Gerard’s School Cross Country
Wednesday 16th August
12.00pm – Early Lunch
12.30pm – Leave School and walk together to the course
12.45pm – Walk the Course
Children will walk the course at approximately 12.45pm and races will begin
immediately following this. The race order will be as follows.
1.00pm (approximately) Races Begin
Race order as follows (Distances may change if the course needs to altered due
to weather conditions/mud):
Year 7 & 8 Boys (2 big laps and 2 short laps)
Year 7 & 8 Girls (2 big laps and 2 short laps)
Year 5 & 6 Boys (2 big laps)
Year 5 & 6 Girls (2 big laps)
Year 1 & 2 Boys (1 short lap)
Year 1 & 2 Girls (1 short lap)
Year 3 & 4 Boys (2 short laps)
Year 3 & 4 Girls (2 short laps)
Years 3 – 8 are eligible for the cups. Years 5 – 8 are eligible for selection to
represent St Gerards at the Central Otago Cross Country on Thurs 24th August.
2.30/2.45pm (approximately)
Last race finished, tidy up of area, return to school.

Homework Term Three Week Four



Room 6 I am really pleased with how most of you are working with the system that we’re trialing in class. Most people are stepping up, being organized, working hard, and having fun choosing learning tasks that you enjoy most. Let’s keep it up and have fun!
Homework is pretty similar this week but make sure you’re keeping up with it. Another busy week so take note of what’s going on and be well organized.

Homework Term Three Week Three



Apologies for the lateness of this notice this week. Once again there’s plenty going on, make sure you’re organized and keep up! I’m enjoying the changes we’ve made so far in Room 6 this term, feel free to keep giving me regular feedback on how things are going for you. Have another super week!

You all have great books that you’re hooked into and I’ve been really impressed with people’s enthusiasm so far. Make sure you continue to set time aside each day and meet your readingtarget by Friday!

Looking at our class tracking there is some awesome improvement obvious, well done! Your hard work and practice is paying off. If you were close to 4mins, or over 4mins, this week then please continue to complete a maths grid each night of the week.
