Welcome to Room 6 2016

Hi everyone and welcome to Room 6 for 2016. Every time we start a new year it feels like such an opportunity and a time when we have so much ahead of us to look forward to. I’m sure we’re going to have a great time in Room 6 and I hope all of you will enjoy your time at school and enjoy your learning. Below are some things coming up and some expectation within Room 6.

Class culture
Together over the first days of school we will be completing some activities and discussions that will help us develop our class treaty. Once students have agreed to this they will bring a copy home to discuss with parents.

Blog
All classes at St Gerards have a blog that is linked from the school website. This will be updated weekly with homework tasks, notices and upcoming events, plus some examples of student work, activities, learning and achievements.

Homework expectation
Most weeks homework will consist of 3-4 activities. The norm is a small inquiry research task related to work in class, a current events task, spelling tasks and 20-30mins reading each night. Sometimes maths tasks will be set or some work that is not completed in class time may need to be completed.
