Week 5 & 6 Notices and Dates

Apologies for over looking this! We're half way through the week already, here's some details on what's coming up and what tasks students are working on.

Dates & Notices:

Thursday 31 May
-Science experiments...please bring jars with lids if you said that you would.

Friday 1st June
-Technology at Terrace

Monday 4th June
-Queen's Birthday weekend holiday

Wed 6th June
-River Monitoring Trip (we are still needing a parent helper if this trip is to go ahead!)

Must Do Tasks happening at present:

-Personal Reading.
1.) Please make sure you read at least up to the pages you have committed to, read further if you can!
2.) You need to complete a book letter by the end of Week 6. I expect the standard to be higher than in Term 1. Make sure you attend a workshop as you write this, and as always refer to the ideas page that you have in the front of your reading activities book.
3.) Update your Reading Logbook. I will be collecting these in next week.

-Famous Failures biographies.
Read your information sheet. Complete further research. Prepare your presentation. Click here to see the further details and expectations we discussed in class.

-Poetry & Short Story writing.
Please continue to work on your chosen type of writing. Submit your work to me for feedback as you go.

-Spelling & Word Activities
We are on list 25 this week and list 26 during Week 6. Please complete your activity, mark it, see me for any questions or clarifications. You must also be testing words each night if you had words to learn after your test on Monday morning.

-Science
Please bring jars on Thurs if you said you would. After our experiment you will be completing a simple write up using the format that we share in class.

-Maths
1.)You each have a Problem Challenge to work on.
2.) We are doing the 'Inspirational Week of Maths' from you.cubed.org and extra deep-thinking maths problems on display in Room 6.
--> Think deeply and slowly when doing these tasks, they will be difficult, they may make you uncomfortable, they may take some time! That is the whole point - perseverance and deep thinking!

Enjoy!
