Kia ora everyone. It's good to be back at school after having to take all of last week off with back troubles. Thanks for your kindness and understanding. Here's a few notices for the week ahead:

-River monitoring trip. See separate notice for details.
-Music, Sing Squad and Vege Gardening.
Thurs 9th Aug
-Swimming in the afternoon.
-Zone Cross Country at Clyde.
Friday 10th Aug
-Technology at Terrace
Must Do Learning Tasks for Week 3-4
READING
-Personal reading book. Read for at least 20 mins each night and have at school everyday for Reading Zone time.
-Curious Minds Reading & Task. 'Feeding the World' from ODT Extra! newspaper.
WRITING
-Memoir writing. Continuation of old memoir story or beginning another, following the checklist and learning from class lessons. Edit. Publishing is optional at this stage as we continue learning and improving our writing.
-Poetry. River poems for National Poetry day. Still to be discussed in class.
SPELLING
-Wk 3 = List 31 word activity, spelling test, learning of incorrect words and retest.
-Wk 4 = List 32 word activity, spelling test, learning of incorrect words and retest.
MATHS
-Word problems to be completed, some in workshop time, some independently.
-Weekly plan worksheets.
SCIENCE
-Material gathered for group experiment.
-Write up of experiment completed.
TE REO
-New material to be learnt and practiced in class.
WALT #1 state likes and dislikes and give compliments.
WALT #2 understand and use location words.
CURRENT EVENTS
-Complete summary task in scrapbook and report back to class if you are on the roster for this week.
RIVER MONITORING
-We are very privileged to be having a visit from the Prime Minister's Science Adviser on Monday Aug 27th. A small group of students will be working on putting together a presentation.
