Task one: The
origins of your first name and surname
In our circle time this week we will be
discussing the origins and meaning of our name. Please talk to your family, and
carry out some internet research, then present a simple ½ -1 page in your
homework book outlining the following:
-Where does your name come from?
-What does your name mean?
-Were you named after anyone else? Who?
-Are there any famous people with your name?
-Any other interesting stories, facts,
history or general information about your name!
Task Two: Maths
Once again I would like people who didn’t
complete the maths grid on Monday to be doing a maths grid each night of the
week. Please complete these in your homework book so that I can see them on
Friday.
Task Three: Current
Events
Check on the board in Rm 6 to see if you are
on this week. Please be ready to present to the class and lead a discussion.
Task Four:
Reading
If you are in a Literature Circles group
please make sure you are ready for your group meeting this week. Remember you
must read your chapters, complete your activity and have it glued in your
group’s scrapbook before the meeting.
-If you are in Mr Yeoman’s group please read
your book for at least 20mins each night, bring it to school each day and be
prepared to share a summary of what has happened in your book with our small
group.
No spelling this week! I’ve listened to your feedback
and we are working on some new material. Watch this space!
