Science with Mr Hogue

Welcome back to Term 4! You're beginning the term with Mr Hogue looking at some science related to energy and the Clyde Dam. Here's an outline of what you'll be doing and some links Mr Hogue will be getting you to use:

Science Level 3/4
Room 6
Focus   Potential Energy – Kinetic energy
Clyde Dam  and hydro electric power

Science Capability
  - Use  evidence
-   Engaging with science
Investigating in science
- Work together to examine  own and others knowledge about forces
- Ask questions . explore simple models
Physical World
- Explore describe and represent patterns and trends for  everyday examples of physical phenomena, such as movement, forces  , and energy transformations

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING?
Identifying and describing everyday examples of energy transformations
Energy Transformation

Potential Energy                                         Kinetic Energy
Focus  Clyde dam

Using the Exploring Models  understanding     activity sheet
On behind the plug.tumblir.com
Demonstrate how potential energy – is transformed into kinetic energy through  hydro electric generation .

- Build A simple model/ construct a  diagram
- Use PE equation to calculate the potential of the Clyde Dam
- Make a power point of hoe electrical power is made using  energy transformation  at a hydro dam

Use the following Links
